Companies marketing and advertising to gays and lesbians.

Gay TV is really happening in the US. There is now a choice of at least three lesbian and gay TV channel brands for gay and lesbian customers to choose from.

here! gay TV channel is one of the TV companies targeting lesbians and gays with new gay TV market choices.
Logo, the new lesbian and gay TV channel from MTV Networks' under the auspices of its parent, Viacom, has garnered a lot of press attention these past few weeks.
But before Logo gay TV...there was here! - a subscription based lesbian and gay TV channel offering dedicated gay and lesbian TV programming to a wide part of the continental USA gay and lesbian market.
Gay TV has been talked about for many years, but is now a reality, and most gay and lesbian Americans now find, that after years of being ignored, they are now feted by companies targeting gays and lesbians with not one, but three gay TV channel choices.
here! is offering an interesting mix of programming, which, as I have said before, will be a critical determinant of which of the three current gay TV channel offerings ultimately succeeds or fails. Brands targeting gays and lesbians through gay marketing will also be important too of course.
here! gay TV has a diverse range of TV shows. The current programs include a feature showcasing that gay icon, the Divine Bette Midler, a documentary about right wing efforts to 'get' former quite gay friendly US President, Bill Clinton during the 1990s, along with a nice collection of gay interest feature films.
There is also gay, lesbian comedy from Kate Clinton and the very funny lesbian comic, Margaret Cho. A music documentary about Maria Callas is a nice complement to the schedule to target the interest of the more artistically inclined lesbians and gay men.
Distribution is via satellite through DIRECTV and DISH and major cable operators including Time Warner, Cable Vision and Comcast also carry the here! gay TV channel.
