It was announced in the latest issue of Travel Weekly that the City of Berlin has signed on to a new gay training program called GayComfort.

Berlin signs up for some GayComfort

Berlin Tourism Marketing has signed up as the first key partner in a training programme to help agents sell holidays for gay and lesbian people.

The GayComfort online staff training programme is an e-learning course developed by specialist gay marketing agency Out Now Consulting.

"Berlin is proud to be the first foundation partner for the GayComfort programme," said the Berlin Tourism Marketing sales director Ralf Ostendorf.

"With the advantages this innovative e-learning training programme offers, staff will be able to deliver superior service to our lesbian and gay visitors."

Out Now Consulting Managing Director Ian Johnson said: "This is a very smart step for Berlin, and most importantly this is good for lesbian and gay travellers."
