General Motors has launched its first gay advertising in the US lesbian and gay auto market featuring a male couple using their Cadillac DTS.

The company joins a growing list of auto makers that target the gay market, including Ford, Subaru, Toyota and DaimlerChrysler.



The new gay advertising includes two men in a Cadillac DTS car under the headline:

"Life. Liberty. And The Pursuit."

This advertising is a step up for the brand with previous gay marketing and advertising efforts being much more low key, and is typical of gay market developments taking place across the world.

Brands are learning they can be unafraid of showing gay themed advertising as society moves to greater general acceptance of lesbian and gay consumers.

The next step by GM is believed to be consideration of a Logo gay TV commercial spot for the Cadillac brand.
